DFSP surgery

Hi! I was diagnosed with DFSP in January and due to have surgery next week. Can anyone please share their experience as far as the recovery? I have my pre-op on Tuesday but have been emailing with the nurse. I understand the incision on my back will be around five inches. I am wondering, realistically, how long the recovery will be.

Thank you

      1. Hi Julie and apologies for the. Wry delayed reply! Surgery went very well. - it was indeed DFSP it was just growing different since it wasn’t visible to the naked eye. Unfortunately, my wound re-opened so waiting for it to heal.

        Thank you for asking!

        1. no need to apologize. I’m glad the surgery went well! Wound healing can be challenging, I’m sorry you’re experiencing some issues with it reopening. Is your doctor having you do anything different this time to help with healing? -Julie (team member)

      2. This time I have a nurse visiting three times a week to change the packing and seeing the surgeon once a week - he wants to monitor the healing process. The Dr has been great as well as the visiting nurse - would love to get back to working out.

        1. it sounds like you have a great care team! I hope you’re able to get back to working out soon!! -Julie (team member)
