Does anyone else feel like mineral sunscreen leaves a white cast on your skin?

I keep applying mineral sunscreen and I end up with a white glaze over me. I look like a Krispy Kreme donut.

  1. Oh yeah I do! It feels like a thinner version of zinc oxide. I keep thinking all the technology we have and we can’t come up with sunscreen that doesn’t turn you into Casper the Friendly Ghost, make you feel like you skin is suffocating, or have carcinogenic ingredients in it?

    1. Exactly! The old adage “We can put a man on the moon, but we can’t…” seems to fit here. Scott skincancer.net moderator

  2. Absolutely. I’m pale in the first place, so overall it is not a flattering look. @

    1. People are starting to wonder about me as well since I have been wearing a wide brimmed hat at night. Scott skincancer.net moderator

    2. Hold your head high and keep smiling. Let them wonder. 😀

  3. I just used mine today at noon to go out for my walk and I agree. It can leave you looking white but if you rub it in enough then you end up more of a shade of red anyway! 😀 I also have been searching for years for something I can tolerate the smell of. Coconut and flowers are a no-go for me. Unscented is usually not. I'd love to find a daily moisturizer with a decent SPF that has a scent geared towards what I like. More of a cologne type scent or "active fresh sport achievement" scent. Haha!

    1. This actually made me laugh. I wonder if it comes in Brut, Aqua Velva, or Polo scents. Scott skincancer.net moderator

    2. I would take any of those over the options out there now!
