"One week post wide excision of basal cell cancer of lower leg. I had unna boot dressing on for the first week. Dr. took off dressing and all looked well. She told me to leave uncovered and do not put anything on it. The incision stuck to sheet and was very uncomfortable to lay in bed. I put vaseline and a coated gauze over incision and loosely wrapped with a coban type wrap and put a loose sock on and I could sleep. What else could I have done? I leave cover off when I am at home but put this same cover on when I go out in public. Also I have a rash where unna boot was and have been putting a cortisone cream around the incision where rash is. Do you have another suggestion for that? The only allergies I have are sulfa derivatives. Thanks, Mary"

  1. Mary, I’m sorry you’re having these issues during your recovery. While you wait for others to share their experiences and things that may have helped them, I would encourage you to reach back out to your doctor as well. I hope you’re able to find something you can do that’s helpful💜. All my best, Julie (team member)
