Bug Spray and Sunscreen

When it's muggy and buggy, do you apply both sunscreen and bug spray? Do you feel that you lose effectiveness and are less protected from harmful UV rays? thoughts? Scott skincancer.net moderator

  1. I have to be honest...I am dedicated to SPF if I have to be out during peak hours. When the mosquitoes are at their worst here in West TN, the sun isn't so high in the sky. That's when I opt more for a straight repellant. There are some combos on the market that offer both protection from insects and the sun though.
Here's a piece I did a couple of years ago on sunscreen and bug sprays:

Hope you are staying protected all the way around!

    1. Thank you for the link. The bugs come out all day here around the areas where our eagles live. It's always this battle between bug spray and sun spray and how much can I stand to have on me before I want to bolt home and shower it all off. Scott skincancer.net moderator

  2. I sell Avon and they have a bug repellent that has SPF 28 in it.

    1. ... thank you for sharing this with the community! It's always good to know where we can find SPF products. Repellant is just a great bonus! April, SkinCancer.net, Moderator

    2. This is great news! Thank you for sharing. How can I find this? Scott skincancer.net moderator
