Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy for skin cancer is the use of liquid nitrogen to destroy a lesion, and may be a good option for benign lesions, such as actinic keratosis, or thin non-melanoma skin cancer. Have you had cryotherapy to treat your skin cancer? What was your experience like? Do you have any tips? Share below!

  1. I have had this therapy on my face. It stings a little and leaves a red mark for a while that faded over time. I certainly preferred this treatment over excision or no treatment at all. Scott skincancer.net moderator

    1. I have had it so many times I lost count! I usually try to take a deep breath in and exhale slowly to keep myself calm. I appreciate when my dermatologists chat with me while they are doing it. It helps to be distracted and somehow stings less!
