What to do about skin cancer spots erupting all over when I just use on one small spot? Should I start treating the new spots? I am already using for 6 wks and if I start treating each new spot it will go on forever.
...this is such a great question and one many people have when they begin using this cream. From my experience, it's best not to keep expanding the area by treating newly erupted spots. You are right--treatment time would just go on and on and on.
I would definitely check with your doctor and send pics (if possible) of any new spots that look like they might be of concern. I have heard many patients describe new areas of redness once they start using the cream. I think it may be one of the side effects of having the cream in the system, and not all of them are actually skin cancer or precancers. I had spots erupt on my chest when I was treating my face. Those spots faded once treatment was over and the cream was out of my system.
Checking with your doctor before adding more cream to the routine would be best. Your doctor can guide you on whether or when to treat these new spots.
I am including an article that might come in handy as you treat: https://skincancer.net/life-with-skin-cancer/tips-for-efudex-users

April, thank you for replying to my question. The article you sent was so helpful to me. It was the first thing I read on-line, and it made me want to join your forum. It is such a huge help to get practical suggestions from someone who has "been there, done that." Thank you again.

Hello. I recall the words of my former attending surgeon, who removed my facial tumor, that efudex is an old and unsafe chemotherapy drug, and that it easily penetrates the body, strongly suppresses immunity, immune cells in the body. And the immune system, suppressed by this drug, ceases to inhibit the growth of other malignant cells. And that's probably why it causes so many relapses.
