Managing Lip healing after Fluorouracil

Hello, I have read through so many tips and stories here that have been very helpful. I'm struggling right now with my lower lip. I did 7 days 2x/day of fluorouracil. I was reacting before the 7th day. I am now day 6 in healing and and getting sporadic bleeding even when I apply Vaseline, or use a straw. I woke up this morning with a lot of dried blood on my lips. I reapplied Vaseline and it is softening but I am afraid to even gently try and wash (or more like pat with a soft wet washcloth) the lower lip for fear of causing more significant bleeding.

This seems to be a typical reaction during healing from what has already been posted here. What I am wondering is how long does this "bleeding" phase of healing last? Thank you in advance and thank you also for all the great resources here.
