Mohs Surgery still red 3 months later

Hello everyone
I had Mohs surgery 3 months ago and the site is still red and slightly bumpy/uneven.
I have been using Strataderm twice daily

Is this normal ?

  1. I know how frustrating the healing process can be and how often questions arise. I can tell you from my own experience with Mohs and excisions that healing can take a good while sometimes. If your skin tends to be sensitive, your healing process might take even longer.

I also experienced the unevenness and irritation (bumpiness) around the site. It sounds like you are on the right track and doing your part to help speed the healing process. If I were you, I would be on the lookout for any new irritation or redness that comes with a warm feeling or excessive itching. That's how I knew I had developed an infection following my first excision. Don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if you have any new changes to the area.

You are past the most difficult part of the entire experience. Complete healing is just around the corner! Please keep us updated on your progress! We are here for you!
