I'm a 59 yo Crohn's patient on an immunosuppressant. Skin tags are pretty common, so I went in October to see my GP and he cryo'd a quick growing one on my face. When it didn't respond, I decided to go to a dermatologist.
My dermatologist saw a basal on my face, did a biopsy and she cryo'd another spot. When the first came back a basal cell, I sent her a message about a biopsy on the 2nd. She agreed, did that biopsy and it came back squamous cell. I then asked about a 3rd, and she did a biopsy and it was negative. I went in a few weeks later for a full skin eval, and she saw a mole on my back and did another biopsy. I asked what she thought and said probably a melonoma and would require Mohs.
I am still waiting on the results from the last biopsy, which was a week ago. I did Mohs on the basal and it was great. I am scheduled for the next Mohs on Jan 5 and the surgeon said if I have a melonoma - they would do that first. He said they try to get those out in 2 weeks where possible, but can't because of the holiday. I am on the cancellation list, too.
I am super anxious on the back biopsy, but now its been a month of waiting for one biopsy result after another. I am taking my college kids next week, but struggling with the anxiety and just having a hard time focusing on anything right now. Work has been crazy busy, but I'm struggling to really focus.
This is going to be a tough week. I'm taking my college kids skiing the following week and dread the thought of a bad phone call while there and trying to keep a good attitude.
I don't know how others do it.
