Yesterday I met a big crowd for lunch, and they selected an outdoor table right in the middle of the sun. I did not feel it was safe for me and struggled with how to respond. Has something similar happened to you? If so, how did you respond?
I have just gone with the flow. If it’s a lot of people I don’t push it. If it’s a couple of friends I ask if we can pick a different table (shaded) or go inside.

Makes sense to me. It was the first time something like that has happened to me, and I was like a deer in headlights. I could feel my eyes filling with tears.

I keep a hat and lightweight jacket in my car … makes these situations less daunting … but, often I find it necessary to excusing myself and exit early …. if asked why; I politely share that I just can’t sit in the direct sun anymore …
