Thought it was a cold sore scar - getting darker/larger

I got a gnarly cold sore back in 2020. It left a white scar on my lip, and I’ve noticed over the past year or so, there’s a dark mark appearing right next to it. I’m really self-conscious about it and wondering if it will ever go always and/or if this is normal? I’ve never had another cold sore do this 🙁 I did spend a lot of time in the sun last year hiking - so maybe that contributed? I’m terrified it’s some kind of skin cancer. I’m going to make an appt with a dermatologist but wanted to post here in the meantime…

Side note: I’m currently pregnant so I can’t use a lot of topics treatments - and please ignore my horrible skin- pregnancy has done a number on my skin 🙁
