Was your diagnosis difficult?

The first time I had skin cancer there seemed to be confusion about what was wrong with my lip. I saw a nurse practitioner first, and she diagnosed me with herpes. Yeah, herpes. Then I saw a dermatologist’s PA who said I don’t know what’s wrong. Then, I saw a plastic surgeon, and he took one look at my face and said you have skin cancer, and I’m removing it today. The biopsy showed he was right.

Was your diagnosis straightforward, or more like mine?

    1. My diagnosis was very straight forward. I am sorry you had to go through all that. I think it isn’t thought about how difficult it is to diagnose skin conditions/diseases. I also have abnormal mole condition, where my body likes to bake abnormal moles that look A LOT like melanoma. It’s super tricky to manage. I don’t think dermatology gets enough credit in the doctor filed in my opinion. How are you doing now?

      1. I think you are right! I am doing really well. I appreciate you asking. You always have such great additions to the discussions. Thanks.
