Wrong diagnosis?

5 year ago I had a mole on my upper lip removed with laser. The dermotologist noticed a little bump on my nose and asked if he should remove that as well. And he did. A few months later it grew back. Its small, skin coloured/pearly, and has never bothered me. But its still here, 5 years later, and not there is another really small one next to it. I just saw a dermotologist again that disgnosed me with actinic keratose, said no big deal, and used cryo on it. But efter reading up on iy it makes no sense. I am thinking nodular basal cell carcinoma. Would you get a second opinion/biopsy? I am 36 years old and so scared. Thank you.

  1. Hello, thank you for sharing your photo and story with us. Although, we cannot make any kind of diagnosis or give medical advice, I would say that if you are not sure or are not satisfied with an initial examination get a second opinion. I have gotten a second opinion and it made me feel better that a second pair of professional eyes looked at it. Please keep in touch. Scott skincancer.net moderator

    1. If you want a second opinion, I would push ahead. You do not know what the second doctor can tell you or do. It is worth doing if you feel that is appropriate for you. Sometimes a second opinion could be future advice. If it comes back, this is what I would recommend in the future. I got a second opinion on my latest skin issue and she just told me her recommendations. I liked her so very much that I moved my care entirely to her hospital. In your heart you know what is best for you to do, we always do. Keep us posted, please!

    2. Thank you for your input. I really liked the idea of seeing a second opinion as something that could be considered future advice. Scott skincancer.net moderator
