Are people you work with/for sensitive to your skin care needs?

I just worked on a television production where I was outside all day. I told the hair and make up team about my skin cancer and they were very helpful. They applied top quality sun screen to my face and neck and sprayed my scalp. Even though most of my body was covered in 1880's wardrobe (including top hat), I was still exposed on my face and head. I did not burn.

  1. Awesome! The important thing I see in your message is that you told them. You spoke up for you. Hooray! I’m glad they were helpful, but people do not know if we don’t tell them. I think most people would be helpful if they are made aware.

    1. I agree that speaking up is a critical piece. What was so amazing was how proactive they were. It felt very caring. Scott skincancer.net moderator

    2. I’m so glad. Happy for you.

  2. My boss has been extremely sensitive to my needs related to my skin. She has encouraged me to take time off, take a break, etc. When I had surgery 3 months ago, she said take the day, take some time, and take care of you. Like you, Scott, I was most appreciative.
