Basal cell twice, mohs surgery twice

Hello,
I have had basal cell twice in two years on front of my forehead, and then one on my temple. They recommended Mohs surgery for both.
The first one left a little dent in my forehead and a small slit looking scar, and the second one is a year in december and it looks like a triangle shape on my temple.
I know that basal cell is the most "curable" type of skin cancer... but this was devastating to me because of it being on my face.. and I DID NOT want scars there of course.
I am in new town by myself as well, and its been hard for me doing this here.
I am looking into laser revision or plastic surgery options. Does anyone have a suggestion for me?? Things they have tried or used that have helped them?
any help or places or people to be directed to would be most helpful.

Thank you!
Jg

  1. computer is not uploading image but if someone replies with info I can also send a pic. thank you!

    1. my situation is slightly different, but I’ll share what I have. I had skin cancer on my bottom lip and three recurrences. At that time, I ran it all (biopsy, surgeries) through a plastic surgeon because I was told that would minimize scars on my face. There is no hiding your face to the world. I’ve got other skin cancer scars the world will never see, but my face…. My face looks pretty spectacular now! Lips line up. I have visible but very minimal scars. I just wear red lipstick and no one knows. (I hope!) I would recommend meeting with a plastic surgeon and see what they can offer. My plastic surgeon performed nothing short of miracles. Good luck!

      1. ... The only thing I have had a plastic surgeon offer so far is to recut the incisions or CO2 laser ( which is 5 hours from me, and definitely more invasive) or a fraxel laser.
These are scary decisions, as i wasn't overly happy with the first surgeries to have BCC removed.. so deciding on another procedure is a lot to think about.
If anyone else has suggestions on reconstructive surgery or laser knowledge for this please let me know, any help is so much appreciated!

And to anyone else who needs support or wants to chat please feel free to private message me. Hope everyone gets the healing and help they need!! 💕

      2. sorry, and to be clear, both of my initial mohs surgeries were done by dermatologists, not by plastic surgeons... Because I did not know that plastic surgeons did that kind of work at the time, and had little support in decision making for it. 😔

    2. And to your comment about basal cell carcinoma being the most curable. There is no good kind of skin cancer. It all causes significant issues. I had squamous cell carcinoma on my lips, and there was no good there either. Take care.
