BCC

Had forehead flap surgery four years ago to replace the end of my nose after Mose for BCC. Absolutely please with results. So I see dermatologist four times a year and he usually finds 2 to 3 new spots on my body. I wear sunscreen, a hat and protective clothing when outside. So if I have any advise it is be diligent about see you dermatologist after you have had BCC

  1. I am so sorry to hear you had to endure such a difficult surgery. It sounds like you had some wonderful results, though. That's awesome news! I know that must have been a huge relief.

You are absolutely correct--it's so important to keep seeing a dermatologist even after a skin cancer removal. Sadly, skin cancer just isn't a "one-and-done" deal for most of us. Diligence with visits and self-checks is critical.

Keep being proactive! We are so glad to have you as part of the community. Many thanks for sharing your experience and advice!

    1. My results fours years after surgery. I will be 74 this year.

      1. You look great! Thanks for sharing your photo, your experience, and your advice. I had to have a graft on my ankle after Mohs for a big squamous cell cancer. But that's nothing like what you went through. The face is such a sensitive area, and the ankle, not so much. So glad you are happy with the results and with your dermatologist. – Ronni (skincancer.net team member)
