Skin behind ear.

Hi folks and thanks for adding me to the forum. For about a year now I have had an irritable bit of skin behind my right ear. I do not scratch or pick it but I am aware it is there.

Should this be something that is checked out by my GP?

Thanks in advance and I had uploaded an image.

SClose up behind right ear.

  1. @Scotty66 thanks for reaching out. For your safety, we can't diagnose your lesion since we are not medical professionals. Skin cancer can take on many different appearances, which is why we always recommend having any concerning spots checked by your doctor to be safe! For your information, I also wanted to include this article from our team on common signs and symptoms of skin cancer https://skincancer.net/basics/signs-symptoms. If you'd like, please keep us updated on what you find out from your doctor. We're here for you! All my best, Julie (team member)

    1. ...Just adding to Julie's comment--based on the fact that this spot has been there a while, I think I would definitely get it checked out by a dermatologist. Your general practitioner may be able to give you an answer or he/she may refer you to a dermatologist.

I always live by the mantra-- "when in doubt, get it checked out."
