Concerned about lesion on lip
Hi all,
I have had what I believed to be chronic follicitus in one spot in my mustache area for several years now. It comes and goes and seems to get worse when I grow a beard and then shave. Recently, I have begun paying more attention to it and am growing concerned that this may be cancerous. I am scheduled to see a dermatologist, but not until 8 weeks from now, so I am posting here to see if anyone else has experienced a similar lesion and to hopefully get more insight into what this could be. Please take a look at the attached image and, if you would be so kind, let me know what you think.

I can't say I have experienced the same, but the fact that it isn't going away on its own is a good reason to have it checked out. I am glad you have made an appointment to see a dermatologist. Have you tried sending the pic to your doctor? Sometimes providing a little more information about your specific concern is enough to get them to see you a bit sooner. If this isn't possible, I would keep documenting any changes in the spot and have those notes ready to share on the day of your visit.
