What should someone look for in a doc?

I live in one of the largest cities in the US, so there are lots of accomplished doctors to choose from. That being said, I’m looking for someone that is positive, upbeat, etc. I recently worked with a surgeon and she started correspondence off with “Good News, Ashley.” Yeah, she was singing my song. The first time I met with her she spent time just letting me know she could and would address the issue. I need to feel like the doctor/surgeon has it under control.
