I'm afraid of skin cancer

I have a lot of moles and I am constantly afraid that one of them may become skin cancer. tell me, what should I do to get rid of this obsessive fear?

  1. our community definitely understands your fear. Have you been able to make an appointment with a dermatologist to have a skin check? Hopefully following up with the doctor will give you some peace of mind. If there are areas of particular concern, you may also want to take photos so that you have something to compare to when doing your self checks. This way you'll know if any of your moles/suspicious spots are changing. Hopefully others in the community will also chime in with some suggestions. All my best, Julie (team member)

    1. thank you so much! I found for myself not just an application, but also a device (NOTA mole tracker, my dermatologist advised me) that measures the impedance of the skin and moles and gives the result - it's worth going to the doctor for an emergency appointment or everything is fine!

  2. Thank you for your question. I completely understand. I worry and I have found that the thing that helps me the most is to have a plan. In other words, if I develop a written plan for self checks, doctor visits, and good skin care protection, then that nervous energy is redirected into positive action steps. Things get out of my head and into therapeutic action. Worry never helped me much, but action has. Hope this helps. Scott skincancer.net team member
