What is the best aftercare cream after 3 weeks of Efudix

  1. Hi and welcome to our community! I'm sorry to hear you're scared, but that is completely understandable. Efudex can be a really uncomfortable and challenging treatment to go through. I'm not sure if you've seen this already, but we have a featured collection all about topical chemotherapy that includes great tips for those going through treatment: https://skincancer.net/topical-chemotherapy-guide. I hope this helps and that others are able to chime in with their experience using Efudex. I'm also going to tag one of our patient leaders, , who has written so many helpful articles about Efudex. Here is her author archive if you'd like to take a look: https://skincancer.net/author/apulliam2000. Please keep me posted on how you're doing! -Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)

    1. Hi Marg - I have done Efudex treatment over 6 times in the last 4 years. It is scary, but I can tell you that the results are amazing for pre-cancerous lesions. I am at the point now that I look forward to this treatment because I can actually see it working. As far as a cream to use for aftercare -I highly recommend Cicalfate Creme from Avene. It works wonders. Spread a nice thick coat of it on the area and leave overnight. Your skin will thank you!

      1. Thank you for your reply and information. It helps to get your experience out there for the benefit of others. Hope that you are doing well. Scott skincancer.net moderator
