Possible squamous cell on nose

Has anyone had surgery on their nose before? Just had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my upper chest in June and had my dermatologist recheck a spot on my nose she had previously treated with cryosurgery. She was concerned, as I was, that the spot is still there. A biopsy was taken today. Or all the places I would not like to have skin cancer, I am most afraid of any type of surgery on my nose. I have had well over a hundred AKs frozen on my chest and arms. I’m trying not to worry about it until the pathology report comes back.

  1. Hello it doesn't sound like a question, more a concern. It's great that you are getting it looked at, and had the biopsy done. Sending you healing thoughts whatever it turns out to be.

    1. Your concerns are completely understandable. I am glad that you are getting things checked out for sure. I agree that worrying doesn't really help. Please keep us updated. Scott skincancer.net team member

      1. Thanks for everyone’s concern. Biopsy came back as just an AK. Have a follow up appointment next month and she wants to freeze the spot again to hopefully prevent any further development into squamous cell carcinoma. The skin cancer worry will always be a part of my life. Just glad that it wasn’t worse. Also glad for the support of this community. It really helps to have others who understand.

      2. I'm 84 and have had many bouts of various types of skin cancer. I won. I saw a dermatologist I trusted, had the places treated as recommended and here I am. There are few scars that I'm too lazy to cover with makeup, but I waited too long to have some of them removed. Take care of yourself.
