Squamous cell 2016 now 2023 breast cancer

In 2016 I had my squamous cell carcinoma surgically removed on my forearm and having a few spots of precancerous areas removed on my upper back over the last few years and I thought I was home free untill January when I had a much overdo Mammagram( 6 yrs)done . I wasn't concerned until the mammo lead to an ultrasound and that lead to recommended biopsies that has resulted in receiving a call last week I have breast cancer and possibly other organs that may also test positive for malignancy. I see the specialist/ surgeon this week and honestly I don't know what to expect and I'm terrified for what is to come. Has anyone had their skin cancer result as other malignancies. And if so please share your experience with me.

  1. Hi - thank you for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry to hear about your breast cancer diagnosis. How have you been doing since receiving that call? And how did your appointment with the surgeon go? I really hope the news you received was in your favor. I hope others in the community are able to chime in if they've had skin cancer result as other malignancies. In the meantime, I wanted to share an article on skin cancer and other health conditions that may be helpful to read, if you haven't already: https://skincancer.net/answers/other-health-conditions. Also, one of our patient leaders, , has lived with myeloid leukemia in addition to skin cancer, so you may be interested in reading articles from her perspective: https://skincancer.net/author/ronnigordon. I hope this helps - please keep me posted on how you're doing. Sending well wishes your way! -Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)
