Successful SCC excision

Had excision on Wednesday. Was terrified as have never had any cancer before. Didn’t help that the surgery was in the anniversary of my husband’s death six years ago. Doc was fantastic, went out of his way to calm me down and answer all of my questions (some more than once). I just got the news that the margins are clear, they got it all! Ecstatic with relief!

  1. ...such awesome news! I am so glad you were able to find some light on such a difficult day. Sending you lots of hugs for continued healing! April, SkinCancer.net, Moderator

    1. Thank you so much! I know there’s a road ahead as I will have to have annual or six-month skin “inspections” for the rest of my life, but am so grateful for the support, both medical and from friends and family.

      1. ...you are right--those regular visits will definitely become routine for you. As stressful as they can be, I am grateful for each and every one! Stay proactive and do those self-checks in the meantime! April, SkinCancer.net, Moderator

    2. Yay!!!!! Thanks for sharing the great news! I celebrate with you. Scott skincancer.net moderator
