Timing of excisional biopsy
Hi all - my shave biopsy came back very abnormal, "very concerning" for melanoma. My dermatologist can't get me in for an excisional biopsy for 6 weeks. This seems wrong to me. Do you have any advice? TIA.
I am so sorry you are dealing with this diagnosis and the long wait for treatment. Though it seems like a long wait, it might be typical for your doctor and this type of procedure.
I suggest you call his/her office and ask them to notify you if there is a cancellation. If I were you, I might ask to speak to the nurse and see if they can suggest anything for you to do in the meantime as far as treatment at home. The nurse might be able to put your mind at ease about the long wait time as well.
