biopsy finding

I had a skin biopsy from the top of my head (bald). No cancer found but some Lymphocytes found. So doc is doing a deeper biopsy. Anyone know why? Or anyone had this done before?

  1. Hi . We are not medical experts and I've never shared your experience, but my guess is that your doctor wants to ensure that the lymphocytes are not significant of a deeper-seated cancer or infection. The presence of lymphocytes often indicates some kind of autoimmune response, but it doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer. You noted that you are bald. Among the possible explainations for lymphocytes on the scalp is Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disease that causes baldness. I know it's hard not to worry, but, hopefully, it's nothing serious. Please keep us posted if you don't mind. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
