What does a self check look like for you?

We talk about the importance of a self check, but it can mean different things for different folks. For some it may mean a quick survey of the skin. For others it may mean documenting and photographing areas of concern for future reference. What does it mean for you?

  1. My gym locker room is covered in mirrors, so I just use that to scan myself and look for skin changes. In all candor, my confidence in picking out a skin issue is not great (I know my own limits), but I do try. Also, I see the dermatologist every 3 months. All in all, I feel good about it.

    1. Thank you for your candor. I think being able to see yourself from all angles is helpful. I feel the same way. I use self checks as part of a larger strategy. I can't catch everything but hoping to catch some things. Scott skincancer.net moderator

  2. The more strategies in place the better.
