    Hi Diana,
I’ve used Efudex several times and can tell you the length of time we are told to treat varies from patient to patient. If you are feeling at all uncomfortable with the length of time you have used it, you should call your doctor and try to schedule a time to be seen. Some doctors like to see patients during treatment and others want to see them a few weeks after healing has started. You don’t have to have had a skin cancer diagnosis to use Efudex as it is designed to rid your skin of precancerous cells as well. Let us know how things go. Wishing you all the best. I know it is a terribly tough treatment. April, Skincancer.net, Moderator

I also tanned. I used tanning beds and laid in the sun as much as I could. Efudex became a yearly routine for me a few years ago. I’ve treated my chest, my face, and spot treated my lips. You are not alone in this treatment. We are here for you! Here’s an article with tips for those who are using Efudex.

Hi Diana! I am sorry you’re dealing with the pain of Efudex. For this question, are you able to contact your dermatologist? While hearing from the community can be helpful, we always recommend a professional opinion when dealing with treatment. Thinking of you and wishing you well! – Nina, SkinCancer.net Team
