What do you wish you’d known about treatment?

A lot of folks have mentioned that they were completely unprepared for what treatment would really be like. The size of the scar, the pain, and the recovery time can be shocking. Is there anything you would tell others about what to expect? Share your skin cancer treatment advice, from Mohs to immunotherapy, in the comments!

My Stage IIB diagnosis came fast and furious. We literally had no time for a second opinion, plus we were overwhelmed with all the additional procedures: PET scan, sentinel node biopsy, and removal of additional margins. I would slow down, attempt to get a second opinion or additional input, and ask the tough questions, first. Get some type of comfort level before any major procedures.
