I Thought Dermatology Was Only For Plastic Surgery Or Botox!

I had never seen a Dermatologist, until I was referred to one, in 2008, at 47 years old. I'm a fair skinned, Irish redhead, that lived in sunny Cal for 22 years.

In 10 years, I've had 28 surgeries (9 of them for melanoma), 17 excision biopsies, and over 138 spots of precancer, burned off, leaving huge blisters.

I've had 3 PDT/blue light therapy treatments. Used Effudex chemo cream treatment, several times, on spots all over my body.

The pain of all this, has been absolutely unbearable at times! I can't preach enough, the importance of sunscreen and no tanning beds....
