Bandage to cover treatment area

I was prescribed Efudex to treat a pre-cancerous lesion on the back of my hand. I was told to apply the cream, then cover with a bandage and to only remove the bandage to treat the area, gently wash the area, dry, then apply the cream again and bandage. Twice a day for 14 days. Anyone else told to bandage?

  1. Hi . This is a good question. I searched our archives, but I haven't found any mention of bandages except when people want to cover up treatment areas to avoid stares or questions. That might be because so many people use it on larger surface areas, like the forehead, shoulders or chest. Those would be hard to cover with bandages. I wish I had an answer or you. It will be interesting to see how people repond. I hope your treatment goes well, that you heal quickly and thoroughly and that you remain cancer-free. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
