CLL and NHL and skin cancers are growing like weeds

So far this year, I have had Basil cell carcinomas taken off by back in two places, squamous cell taken off my left arm. Melanoma taken off my nose and left cheek.
Is there anything I can do to slow down these cancers. I have been told that with the CLL and NHL it will continue?

  1. Hi - thank you for sharing with us. I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles with skin cancer this year, as well as with CLL and NHL. Everyone's journey with skin cancer is different, however, I wanted to share an article we have about skin cancer prevention with you: https://skincancer.net/living/prevention-awareness. There are some helpful tips here that can hopefully help you prevent any additional skin cancers in the future. I would also advise speaking with your doctor if you haven't already since they know your medical history much better. Here's another article we have about skin cancer and other health conditions: https://skincancer.net/answers/other-health-conditions. It's common for members of our community to live with multiple conditions and/or cancers, so please know you're not alone here. Please keep me posted on how you're doing or if there's any other information you're looking for! -Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)

    1. Thanks for reaching out. I have been told because of the CLL and NHL that the skin cancers will be growing because my immune system in compromised.
In addition to the CLL and NHL, I have had 5 heart attacks with eleven stents. Can't wait to see what comes up next. LOL

      1. Oh my - I'm so sorry to hear this! I have to say I admire your strength in combatting multiple health conditions. This certainly can't be easy! I hope you are able to receive some good news and relief soon, but in the meantime please know our community is here to support you in your journey. Wishing you all the best, Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)

    2. My response to people when they ask why I keep covered up in the sun, I say " due to temple punishment, when I was much younger, LOL, I am now paying the price for not wearing sun skin.

      1. Isn't it interesting how different sun-safe practices are now than they were years ago? It seems like now there is a more widespread focus to wear sunscreen, whereas, for many of us, it wasn't as big of a deal when we were younger. If only we had the knowledge then that we do now! Wishing you well, Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)

    3. Hi Alexa--- Wow, is that true!
