Could this be cancer ?

Hi.

I'm 32 and this has popped up on my thigh. It's been there about 2 weeks now . It doesn't itch or hurt.

Could this be something to worry about ?

  1. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. I know what it is like to worry about a new spot.

While we aren't doctors and can't diagnose, we can suggest you have a dermatologist check it out. If this spot has been there for a few weeks, it's worth looking into. I can tell you from personal experience that each of my skin cancer spots has been a little different from the last. Some have itched while I didn't even realize others were there.

I am including a link to a great tool to use when doing self-examines--it sounds like you are already doing a great job keeping up with regular self-checks.

    1. Does your healthcare provider have a patient portal? You could email them the photo and ask what they think. I sometimes do that when I'm concerned. I also sometimes email the doctor a photo of a spot. If you don't know the doctor's email, you could call the office, express your concern, and see if they would like you to email it. That sometimes starts the process of getting it checked. Every doctor is different, though, so maybe they will give you an appointment without the in between step. Always best, if you are worrying about a spot, to get it checked out. We all know what it's like to worry, and it is NOT fun. Sometimes just making an appointment, or starting the process, takes a load off gets me to stop worrying. Here's something I wrote about worrying...and please check back in to tell us how you're doing. https://skincancer.net/life-with-skin-cancer/suspicious-spot-scalp
