...I am so sorry you are facing Mohs. Is this your first experience with skin cancer and Mohs?
I have had Mohs several times--all of mine have been for BCC on my neck and upper back. Some patients prefer Mohs to excision. I have had good experiences with both types of surgery. I feel like Mohs is a good way to have everything done in one day without having to schedule multiple visits for follow-up surgeries.
It can be difficult emotionally if you aren't prepared for it. I suggest you take a friend or family member along if possible. (I know the current Covid guidelines may prevent you from having someone accompany you.) It's nice to have someone to talk to keep your mind off the surgery. Also, it makes the drive home a lot easier. I have done it both ways--I've driven myself and had a friend go with me.
I also encourage you to ask your doctor any questions prior to the procedure. Once you get started, it may be difficult to remember. He/she will have instructions for aftercare, but you may have other questions about what to expect in the coming days.
We have several articles dealing with Mohs. I am including them below.
