Skin cancer screening soon

I am going in for a screening soon. I have had them before. I have had biopsies. So far two basal cells. It’s a concern since my mom had melanoma on her leg. I have two new growths to be checked out. Does this ever get easier? When I try to talk to my friends about my nervousness before appointments or while waiting for biopsy results, they don’t seem to get it.

  1. Dear , you are preaching to the choir in this community! Having seen all that folks say about the ongoing anxiety, the recurrences and treatments and anxiety might not get easier themselves, but we can learn coping strategies that make it feel easier. I'm sharing a few articles that I hope will show you just how common these feelings are:

Hoping for no invasive treatments this time <3 Do let us know how it goes.

    1. PTL, no biopsies this time! NinaHU, thank you so much for the articles. It’s nice to know someone understands and can relate. I have a recheck in 6 months. Hopeful all will be well then too.

      1. Wow, , what luck! I'm so glad you didn't have to ride that rollercoaster again this time. Check in anytime, especially if you feel nerves about any new spots or your next check. I hope you'll hear the same next time!
