UV lamps-nails salons

I recently read that nails salons are now using small lamps that give off UV rays. I knew salons had gone away from the harmless dryer types they were using, but I was not sure of the safety of the lamps they now use. They are not as harmful to us as a tanning bed, but they are not good. Did you know? If you have your nails done, how will you respond? How do you feel about nail salons using these UV lamps on presumably unknowing customers?
