@JoeyH, as a rule of thumb, I always err on the side of caution. I would encourage you to have this spot and any other new or changing areas checked by your doctor. Skin cancer can take on many appearances, so it's always best to be safe and have a doctor take a look. Best wishes, Julie (team member)

...I agree with Julie--it's best to have it checked if you have any question in your mind at all about it. There are several things to watch for when looking out for suspicious spots. I am including a couple of links. One lists the ABCDEs of melanoma and the other contains images of both cancerous and noncancerous lesions.

Self-checks are important and help catch skin cancer in early stages, but it looks like you are already doing a great job at spotting moles you think might be suspicioius. Keep being proactive!
