skin cancer on face and chest

Good morning, I was wondering if anyone has used Calamine Lotion for the itch. I am treating my chest and oh man does it ever get itchy. I ended up putting vaseline on at 5:30 am. Look forward to hearing what treatment you used.

  1. Hi ! I’m making the assumption that you’re treating your chest with Efudex. One of our patient leaders has shared a number of articles on her experience with this treatment. This particular article goes over products and when she uses them https://skincancer.net/life-with-skin-cancer/skincare-products-efudex. I would also encourage you to reach back out to your doctor before applying any other creams to be safe! I hope your treatment is successful. Best wishes, Julie (team member)

  2. Used Fluoracil for a month on chest. Just began using combo of Cetaphil for dry skin & CeraVe itch relief Moisturizer w comforting results. My chest looks/ feels a bit puffy. Anyone else hv that? Mostly red & scabby

    1. Hi . I hope you get some input from others in the community, but I'm guessing that's your immune system responding with histamines to ward off any potential infection just like it would with burns. We're not medical experts though, so I would send a quick note to your dermatologist to get assurances that the reaction is normal. I'm glad you're done with the Fluoracil. That must be a relief. - Lori (Team Member)

  3. Because its so red & raw, i took another dose. My Dermatologist doesn't know I'm using it as he doesn't like it . He'd rather burn or cut. Its been a bit over 4 wks & i dont know when to stop

    1. Hi . We really don't recommend using a prescription treatment without your doctor's knowledge. That can be dangerous. Efudex is generally used for prevention, not for existing cancer. If you have cancerous spots, your dermatologist is probably right to remove them. - Lori (Team Member)

  4. he originally prescribed for same thing
