Many people have signs or symptoms of skin cancer for quite a while before they finally see a doctor for an evaluation. Looking back, what was the biggest barrier to getting your skin checked earlier?
As a blonde haired blue eyes person I should have gone to the doctor much sooner than the 42 years it took me to go. For the past several years I have been to the doctor about my skin much more religiously. It took a skin cancer diagnosis for me to really treat it as more than just a yearly visit. Now I’m on a 4 month cycle mostly for my own peace of mind. My biggest hurdle was just thinking oh it won’t happen to me, even though skin cancer runs in my family.

Hi . I'm glad you finally went. It seems many people who tan easily (including a lot of blue-eyed, blonde-hair people), think they are not at high risk, but skin cancer does not discriminate. Thanks for joining the conversation. - Lori (Team Member)
