basal cell carcinoma treatment

My mother is 92. She was diagnosed with a BCC on her lower shin. She has had several on her face and they were treated with the Mohs procedure. I wonder if, given her age and the location of the cancer, it may be better to leave this one be. Thoughts?

  1. Hi Mike - I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's recent diagnosis. May I ask if you've spoken with her doctor about what they recommend? Unfortunately, we cannot provide medical advice for your mother's safety, especially since we do not know her medical history. What was her experience with Mohs like in the past? Wishing her all the best, please keep me posted! -Alexa (SkinCancer.net moderator)
