Fluorouracil

I'm having a rough time 3 months after using Fluorouracil on my upper arms. I've had basal cell skin cáncers and then a squamous cell skin cáncer and my doctor prescribed Fluorouracil. It's been horrible. My arms still look like raw hamburger 3 months later. And I have horrible scars from the shave biopsies. I have bright red inflamed wrinkles. My arms are a mess. Has anyone else experienced this and will it ever improve?

  1. Hi . We are not medical experts, but it seems that by now you should be healing. Most people see significant healing one to two months after finishing treatment, though it does often get worse before it gets better. Have you talked with your doctor? Here is an article that includes some tips for helping your skin health and soothing your raw skin: https://skincancer.net/life-with-skin-cancer/tips-for-efudex-users. I hope this helps and that you begin to see improvement soon. Please keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
