Dangers of Using Sun for Vitamin D
My mother is 93 yrs old with invasive squamous cell carcinoma. She can’t take vitamin D orally, so she sits in the sun for about 30 - 40 minutes on days that are not too hot and humid, for her vitamin D.
She says she can’t take the medication for osteoporosis, not Vitamin D supplements because they make her heart “race”.
We are at the dermatologists office every month to have growths removed and biopsied. They always come back squamous cell. Some need to have Mohs, but the surgeon told the doctor not to refer for anymore surgeries because she doesn’t heal well anymore.
Do I nag her about this? Do I just look the other way? I don’t understand her thinking.
