My Skin Cancer Nightmare

I have dealt with skin cancer since 2000. I’ve been having precancer, basal cell, and squamous cell froze, burnt, scraped, and in-office surgeries.

The first melanoma treatment

May 2014 a spot on my ankle I had removed came back as melanoma.

July 8, 2014 I had surgery to have it removed and a skin graft to fill the hole. The doctor said I almost lost my foot. When the results came back it was stage two nodular melanoma. I was told I did not have to have further treatment but they would keep an eye on me.

Watching for a spot on the lung

January 2019 I had a CT scan and a spot was seen on my left lower lung of 4mm. They said it was nothing but they would keep an eye on it.

March 2019 I had a follow-up CT scan and the spot grew too 9mm but still they wanted to watch it.

August 2019 I had another CT scan and the spot grew even bigger to 1.2 cm.

New diagnosis: stage IV melanoma

October 21, 2019 I had surgery to remove the spot and it came back as stage 4 advanced melanoma.

After having a power port Implanted in my chest I started immunotherapy November 16 2019. I would have four treatments of Yervoy and Opdivo every three weeks then for 2 years just Opdivo every two weeks if the every-3-months scans come back as clear. I am awaiting my first scan.
