Are you using Efudex (fluorouracil)? Were you given an idea of how long you should apply the cream?
You will find that the duration of treatment can vary from user to user. While most of us seem to see a strong reaction in 3 to 4 weeks, others react much faster and some take much longer.
A good sign that it is time to stop is crusting, weeping clear fluid, and scabbing of the treated area. If your skin has yet to reach that stage, you may need to treat a little longer, and your doctor is the best one to answer that. If your skin is scabbing over, you may be done.
As far as moisturizing goes, many doctors suggest using Vaseline or Aquaphor to soften the scabbed areas. I prefer to use Vanicream lotion, and I apply it liberally throughout the day once I have stopped using Efudex.
I am including an article that might help you in the coming days.
